Willamette Partnership praised for leading the nation at Portland’s City Club forum on Green Markets and Environmental Entrepreneurship

On February 19, Margie Gardner, Chief Executive Officer of the non-profit Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), spoke at City Club’s Friday Forum about how markets can engage people and businesses in restoring our planet. She identified the Willamette Partnership’s work to set up mechanisms to measure and quantify ecosystem services as “the cutting edge of environmental commodity markets.”  She proudly noted that “there is a group here in town that is leading the nation in leveraging the temperature market even further; They are called the Willamette Partnership and they are working to set up mechanisms to measure and quantify environmental services, packaged into units a consumer can recognize and buy.” You can listen to her analysis of the history and future of environmental entrepreneurship here.
