Counting on the Environment
Ecosystem Credit Calculator draft methodology
Hello! We're excited to present the draft documents for the Ecosystem Credit Calculator. The Calculator is a combination of methods and processes that will allow a land manager to quantify the benefits or impacts their actions have for wetlands, salmonid habitat, upland prairie habitat, and water temperature. These draft documents have been prepared over the last six months through extensive reviews of existing methods, stakeholder meetings, and technical review in currency-specific focus groups. The methods have also gone through one round of field testing.
We welcome comments on all of these documents, but would like to focus your attention on the general crediting documents, and some specific questions for some of the other credit-specific documents. We are looking to receive comments before May 15, and the earlier you can get them to us, the sooner we can incorporate changes. We plan to address comments and take the methodology back out into the field in the first half of May and finalize the methodology in June 2009.
Comments can be emailed to Joni Shaffer at jshaffer@willamettepartnership.org. Thank you for taking the time to review and give us feedback!
This is an iterative process, and this is just Version 1 of the Credit Calculator. Below are links to the background and general documents. Click here for technical documents on wetlands, prairie, salmonid and water quality currencies.
