Ladan Ghahramani (she/her), Partner since 2023 | Co-Director of Northwest Environmental Justice Center
“Growing up in Iran, I witnessed many barriers to nature, especially for women, and the exploitation and degradation of natural resources. These experiences set me on an environmental justice path to 1. create inclusive and accessible spaces for communities – so that everyone could benefit from the healing power of nature and 2. To support communities who would be impacted by climate change for generations.”
Ladan brings a wealth of experience working on environmental and human health issues with both historically marginalized communities and public sector organizations. She also carries significant management experience and a doctorate degree in community health and sustainable management of natural resources.
Now, as Willamette Partnership’s Co-Director to the Northwest Environmental Justice Center, she is working alongside a diverse set of partners to find solutions and support communities facing these issues. Through her personal commitment to address environmental justice issues and drive systemic change for long-term results, she hopes the scale of this project will create a lasting impact and a clear difference in people’s lives. Through this co-leadership model, Ladan sees the passion and drive in her teammates as a direct reflection of her own core values while bringing a diverse set of skills and knowledge to the table.
As a Co-Director, Ladan brings a strong collaborative nature to the Center. She hopes to build meaningful relationships with the stakeholders and communities involved, creating shared ownership amongst those working toward the same goals and outcomes. With a background in research, data analysis, and program evaluation she’ll bring a comprehensive understanding of how to leverage data and pull insights to create impactful decision-making processes and evaluate progress as we go. All while sharing this back with communities in an easy and approachable way.
When Ladan is not working directly with community partners, you can find her happily hiking or trail running in Portland’s Forest Park or the stunning Columbia River Gorge.
